I've never auditioned here before and I was wondering: do kids go to the general audition as well as the kids audition or just one of them?
ReplyDeleteThe kids' Auditions are for everyone aged 9 to 14. Everyone older than 14 should go to the general audition.
ReplyDeletedo we have to sighn up for auditions or do you just arrive?
ReplyDeleteIt's an open audition - just show up! We hope to have more detailed information posted soon about the roles and suggestions on how to prepare.
ReplyDeleteHave you determined rehearsal times? Day time or evening? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteRehearsals will begin the week of May 21st through opening night. Most week nights and some weekend days. We should have the rehearsal times and dates by early May.
ReplyDeleteI see there is a kids' audition. Just wondering what you plan for the kids to be doing in the show?
ReplyDeleteAs there are no kids called for in the script we are creating spots in the show for a limited number of children to portray "woodland creatures". While their roles have not yet been fully developed, we intend to utilize kids (9 years or older) both as chorus members and as atmosphere enhancers before, during and after curtain.

ReplyDeleteAs you probably are aware, "Into the Woods" is an intensely ensemble piece so I would expect the Director (Jim Lund) will be scheduling rehearsals most week nights and some weekend days. Hope this helps you with your decision.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI would love to join this show, but I have a semi busy schedule. I was curious as to what your policy is on how many rehearsals you can miss, I want to do a show this summer but my family is taking several Thurs-Sun road trips that I don't want to miss out on. Thank you (:
for the auditoin, do we have to have music from the show to sing? or can we just know what the song is from the show and sing with the music you have...?
ReplyDeleteYou do not have to provide music. However, unless you bring your own, you will be have to sing in the key that we have available.
Deleteohhh thats fine because i asume thats the key you'd have us sing if we got the part
DeleteOn this post, the date for the kids' audition is May 16, but the CVFT website audition page says it is May 17. Which is the correct date? and can we come anytime before 9pm?
